No
suficientemente competitivo a nivel internacional.
ABSTRACT: The subsector metalmechanical exportations represent a foreign currency as much for Colombia as for the department of Antioquia. Nevertheless the subsector situation does no represent the top line in exportations; therefore the idea is to carry out competitive analyses in the subsector of Antioquia that will show the competitive position of this industry in relation to the international markets and the same time setting up possible strategies to obtain a grader level of development in the subsector. The results obtain in the investigation process stated that the structural make up, the week union among companies, the lack of relationship between suppliers and producers in the subsector, the low level of technification and the lack of assuredness offered by the national government; do not give them time to react to companies in respect to market changes or to the new commercial integrations which will be formed by the country in the following years, so it is believed that the subsector is not sufficiently internationally competitive. Thus it is recommended that the government as well as the companies belonging to the subsector agree to draw up financial programs, innovational technology and productivity, promote exportations, cultural belief of exportation, legislation and state policies with the aim to encourage the industrial development, the search for foreign investment and the simplifying of paper work.
