RESUMEN: La ganadería vacuna es una de las principales actividades económicas del país, actualmente representa1el 3.6% del PIB total del país, el 27% del sector agropecuario y el 64% del sector pecuario. El gobierno tiene como prioridad en el mediano plazo aumentar la productividad de este sector para mejorar la calidad de los productos, el tamaño del hato en el país y los precios a los consumidores.La demanda de carne y leche, proveniente de esta ganadería, se constituyen los principales productos de este sector, los cuáles se comportan de una manera totalmente opuesta desde el punto de vista de la oferta y la demanda, debido a que la leche presenta una mayor demanda en los últimos años, mientras que el consumo de la carne tiende a disminuir, principalmente por la variable precio.Es por esto que los productos a producir y ofrecer en la empresa que se estudia en el presente proyecto, son precisamente la carne y la leche, lo cual constituye una actividad ganadera de doble propósito. A su vez, para esta producción se ha seleccionado un sistema de producción en confinamiento, lo que significa que los animales siempre estarán en los corrales y hasta ese lugar se le llevará el alimento, buscando una mejora en la productividad de la cantidad de tierra obtenida y la producción por animal.El proyecto se localizará en la ciudad de Magangué –Bolívar, ciudad donde se tiene los terrenos para la explotación ganadera y en donde confluyen grandes compradores de estos productos.La inversión necesaria para iniciar el proyecto es de $204.252.857, cifra que se explica al interior del texto, obtenida a través del estudio económico de la actividad citada, el cual se realizó utilizando herramientas para la evaluación financiera tales como el valor presente neto (VPN) del proyecto y del inversionista, la tasa interna de retorno (TIR) del proyecto y la del inversionista, de lo cual fue posible concluir que el proyectoes viable para su implementación.

ABSTRACT: The bovinecattle is one of the main economical activities of the country, currently it represents the 3.6% of thetotal GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the country, it is also the 27% of the farming sector and, the 64% of the cattle sector. For this reason the government has the priority to increase the productivity of this sector in the short run, in order to improve the quality of the products,the size of the cattle ranch and the prices for the consumers.The demand of milk and meat, which are the main products of thissector, behave totally opposed, because the milk has increased its demand in the latest years, while the consumption of bovine meat has decreased, due to the price factor.The goodsto produce and offer, are indeed meat and milk, making a double purpose cattle activity, but through a confinement production system, which means that our animals will always be in corrals and their food will be brought to that place, this way improving the productivity and the quantity of the land, and the production per animal. The project will take place in the city of Magangué–Bolivar, which has the required fields for the cattleexploitationandalso is well visited by buyers interested in this kind of products. The requiredamount to initiate this project is $ 204.252.857pesos, number that is explain in the next chapters from this paper, this number is obtained throughan economical study fromthe mentioned activity, which inc urred in finance evaluation tools like the project and investor’s net present value (NPV) and the project and investor’sinternal rate of return (IRR). The Analysis from this information showed that the project isviable if implemented.
