RESUMEN: Debido al reto existente en la actualidad que presentan las organizaciones por transformar sus procesos y hacerlos más eficientes, rentables y sostenibles; pasando de la era industrial a una era de información y digitalización, en este proyecto se busca evaluar la posibilidad de integrar la tecnología Blockchain dentro de la gestión en el interior de la cadena de suministro. Se considera pertinente realizar esta investigación debido a las diferentes oportunidades que emergen con gran aceleración en los últimos años en temas de digitalización y con ellas los cambios en los procesos dentro de las organizaciones buscando que sean cada vez más eficientes y competitivas. Además de esto, como estudiantes de ingeniería industrial, los desarrolladores del proyecto consideran que el aumentar su conocimiento en esta área les generará ventajas competitivas como profesionales. Para lograr la consecución de los objetivos se iniciará con una contextualización de varios conceptos que se encuentran estrechamente relacionados con el blockchain. Luego de esto, se analizarán las ventajas y limitaciones que presenta dicha tecnología actualmente debido a su reciente desarrollo. Toda esta investigación previa se realizará con la finalidad de comprender correctamente la tecnología en sí y así poder cerrar el área de enfoque a las cadenas de suministro, para finalmente poder realizar una evaluación de la posible integración de la tecnología blockchain a la gestión de la cadena de suministro.
