RESUMEN: La realización de este trabajo parte de la necesidad de establecer la cantidad de recursos requeridos en la planta de producción de calentadores de Industrias HACEB S.A., para satisfacer los planes de producción, buscando la mejor utilización de las máquinas, adecuada distribución del personal en el proceso, una muy buena calidad del producto y alta satisfacción del cliente. Para esto, se realizó una investigación que comienza con un análisis de la evolución histórica de los sistemas de producción, presentando posteriormente un estudio teórico/práctico del sistema de manufactura ajustada, con el fin de obtener unas bases sólidas y necesarias para una adecuada formulación de la propuesta. Además se evaluaron los principios de manufactura ajustada aplicados a Industrias HACEB S.A. en la planta de Calentadores, a través de un análisis del proceso con su respectivo estudio de tiempos, para así presentar un modelo de planeación de la capacidad, en el cual se establece para una mezcla de productos la cantidad de personas requeridas y la ocupación de la maquinaria.

ABSTRACT: The accomplishment of this work begins with the necessity of establishing the quantity of resources required in the HACEB S.A. industry heater production plant with the purpose of satisfying the production plans, in search of the optimization of the machines, the personnel's appropriate distribution in the process, a very good quality of the product and the clients high satisfaction. With this aim, an investigation that began with an analysis of the historical evolution of the production systems was carried out, presenting, later on, a theoretical - practica¡ study of the adjusted manufacture system, with the intention of obtaining sorne solid and necessary bases for an appropriate formulation of the proposal. Moreover, the principies of adjusted manufacture applied to HACEB S.A. industries to the heater plant were evaluated through and analysis of the process with their respective study of times, so as to present a model of planning of the capacity, in which the quantity of required people and the employment of the machine for a specific mixture of products are established. The obtained results exemplify the necessity to implement this proposal, since improvements could be obtained starting from the capacity planning model, diminishing the number of people required in the plant according to an appropriate distribution in the processes, decrease in the size of the inventories due to the high response capacity that the plant has, better use of equipments, and high quality, among others.
