This project is framed in an exploratory investigation, which was based on mixed source (documentary and field); Accelerometers were used for this in order to perform measurements in the field, after this a database was created with information that took into account fundamental characteristics that allowed to know the behavior of buildings under environmental vibrations, consecutively these would be examined by means of a Multivariate statistical analysis, where you could estimate which of those variables generated a model that allowed us to obtain approximations that were adjusted to the fundamental period.
The study aims to verify the accuracy of the empirical equations of the NSR-10 to estimate the fundamental period of 5 buildings built in Medellín with the combined structural system. This is done in order to demonstrate whether or not there is a significant difference between the fundamental periods calculated through the equations proposed by the Colombian standard and those obtained through field measurements, since, in studies conducted in other countries it has been demonstrated It is common to find differences between the estimates made using these two methods mentioned above.
