The presence of large concrete producers hinders the development of small businesses. Vertical integration and technological development represent a significant advantage for large producers, because large producers can finance them. AHINCO S. A., a company dedicated to the production of concrete with fly ash is a competitor with Antioquia`s large producers. It has highlighted the need to improve production costs and has proposed the use of the newest additive on the market: Nanofluid. This product is based on silica nanoparticles suspended in a fluid, which reduces the amount of water in the concrete and has high range plasticizing properties. AHINCO S. A., has decided to support this research through the development of various mixtures., wich will be tested with axial compressive tests on concrete cylinders with fly ash and four different percentages of additive to determine if it is possible to reduce the amount of cementitious materials (cement + fly ash ), resulting in lower production costs. This investigation hopes to build a series of curves (Resistance vs .Cementitious material), governed by the percentages of the additive and they will provide important information for understanding the behavior of mixtures with this additives and the economic effect on the production cost.
