    A portable device to quantify spasticity

    The importance of measuring an exact level of spasticity -quantify- lies on the necessity to easily evaluate the severity of the condition when assessing the improvements of rehabilitation therapies or medicines without compromising measurements with subjective results. Based on the Ashworth clinical assessment, the solution here presented evaluates the dynamic response of the stretch reflex when the elbow joint is involuntary extended or stretched. The result of this test represents the angle at which the hyperactive reflex is produced.
