    This paper verifies a conceptual model and a constitutive model established from deep landslides on the eastern slopes of the Valle de Aburrá. The model suggests the presence of an aquifer between the bedrock and the upper layer of impermeable soil, that generates an overload to the slope triggering deep mass movements. The aquifer is generated by a recharge zone at the top of the slope and the Valle de San Nicolás, due to the presence of caves, crevices and sinkholes that allows the infiltration of precipitation and surface flows.
