    The current trend in the city of Medellin is to worship the body image. Beauty has become in a necessary condition to achieve acceptance in the society. To be guaranteed a place in it, women must meet certain established aesthetic patrons, that somehow generate unconformity and insecurity that make them to try a number of practices and technics in order to reach those patrons. The overuse of cosmetics, the extensive exercise routines, strict diets and expensive plastic surgery procedures, are some of the most known methods. These ideals are not yet well documented, for which this research was conducted. This process begins with a bibliographic documentation of the beauty models that have existed from the XX century until today. Followed by the completion of 149 personal surveys and 12 in-depth interviews to women between 23 and 30 years old living in the city of Medellin strata 5 and 6, where they were inquired about their aesthetic ideals and motivations. Finally, was found that there are five aesthetic prototypes which the women participants in this research wish to reach. The results were validated by six experts on the subject and rigorously analyzed by the researchers in order to construct and present final recommendations to the companies in the cosmetic industry.
