Sistema de gestión administrativa para el manejo de la tuberculosis en Medellín
(Universidad EIA, 2009) Agudelo Gómez, Margarita María; Gómez Arias, Dilia
The Tuberculosis –TB– is one of the diseases that has killed more people around the world trough out the history of humanity, and its epidemiologic behavior is one of the best ways to detect the health status in the regions susceptible to the disease. In Medellin, tuberculosis has presented an alarming growth that forced the respective authorities to take measures that, in some cases, are inefficient and that offer solutions only in the short term, this can be cause for a lack of resources or unawareness of the measures that should be taken to confront it. Since the approval of new laws in the country the problem of the inefficiencies has been getting worse because of the deviation of the resources destined to health care and the increasing number of people living in overcrowded conditions in the various depressed areas in the city that due to the violence and poverty have growth in number and size. This situation takes us to observe a big backwardness in the management of public health care, due to a lack in effective and timely diagnosis, with both technical and human monitoring and controlling that allow a better medical attention to the patient needs. It is alarming to see how in other sector of public health care important technical advances are produced to detect infections with a diagnosis capable to solve on time another health care demands, but in contrast the solution to the infective and contagious diseases that should have been exterminated years ago there is a backward movement.
