    Deepening of globalization, especially increasing the FTAs signed by Colombia and transacted in recent years, makes the financial results of local companies depend increasingly on the international market fluctuations, and in particular, variations in the exchange rate, making more relevant the use of derivative financial instruments to hedge this risk. This document focuses on the area of spraying in Colombia, by the increasing importance of imports in total costs. It makes an estimate of the opportunity costs of the sector and a representative firm using instruments forwards, options and natural cover.
