Here it is shown a clear definition of VMI and it is analyzed the key elements and the most important VMI models that can be found in related research literature. Also presents a comparative assessment of two methods proposed in the literature for calculating the replenishment quantities in a VMI context, which are compared with the current procedure implemented for such propose in the company.
