Publicación Acceso abierto Acondicionamiento del sistema institucional de Antioquia para el posconflicto con las FARC(Universidad EIA, 2014) Agudelo Vieira, María Adelaida; Sánchez Posada, Andrea; Calle Zapata, VladimirTo what extent will the existing institutions in Antioquia withstand the possible post-conflict with the FARC? What institutions should be created or reformulated in Antioquia to succeed in a post-conflict scenario? Is it only necessary to have an optimal institutional system and a peace sign for a sustainable and lasting peace? The answer to these questions depends primarily on identifying the institutions and initiatives currently in existence in Antioquia and the needs of the region, in order to analyze the most important aspects that should be covered. Based on this, different initiatives and institutions are proposed, also taking into account the importance of having a process of awareness, truth, and forgiveness in society, because peace is from all and for all, and only is achieved with effort and hard work. On the other hand, it was important to review the histories of international conflicts and Colombia to find items that could serve as a reference for application in the current Colombian context, which brought to the surface the importance of creating a Truth Commission as an appetizer to peace. Finally, comparing all the evidence it is concluded that to start building peace there must be hard work in areas such as construction of guarantees of non-repetition, the recovery of municipal historical memory, economic development, institutional public regulation, the comprehensive action against antipersonnel mines, environmental sustainability, and community reintegration. These initiatives must be accompanied by a profound change in society, a change in behavior, in consciousness and values, complemented with complex processes of reconciliation, truth and forgiveness, because peace is not simply achieved through an agreement. Peace is built with the combined efforts of each of the actors in society.
