Pulmonary function tests are used by specialists for the diagnosis and monitoring of these diseases. In this project, a new method to evaluate lung function is proposed, based on the Forced Oscillation Technique and the application of electrical concepts. The implementation of this new approach is planned as a lightweight, low-cost device that offers an alternative to current market pulmonary monitoring devices. A mathematical model is proposed to evaluate and predict the system’s response. An expression to find the relationship between airway resistance and the output variable is also determined. Subsequently, the prototype is assembled, and its performance is tested. Finally, the accuracy of the device is calculated.application/pdfengDerechos Reservados - Universidad EIA, 2021Development of a biomedical device to measure the airway resistance of the respiratory systemTrabajo de grado - Pregradoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessAtribución 4.0 Internacional (CC BY 4.0)Airways resistanceForced Oscillation TechniqueObstructive diseasesGomez Duque, O.
