ABSTRACT: The problem of shortage of water that the world faces, and their irrational use, has led us to seek another ways to optimize its use and reduce its waste, a clear example of one of those ways is the collection of rainwater, that is a very practical solution for the buildings that want to get the LEED certification, take care of the environmental or simply reduce their cost of public services. The EIA University seeks to become in a sustainable university . For this analysis they will be considered some activities, like the measuring of precipitation in that location, the offer of rainwater and the designs of the system of water collection, water storage and the automated irrigation of the green areas of the campus. with all of these activities we will be able to establish all the designs of the final system, the construction methods and finally define the viability of development those systems through the cost and benefits of implement it, taking into account environmental, social and economic factors, to finally conclude that’s recommended to the EIA University to go forward with the designs and studies in detail and implement this project, because even that the inversion is high this one will be returned in the time, and will approach the university to become in a enviromental friendly university, and to this objective of be relevant and sustainable.
