Obtención de parámetros de funciones “volumen demora” acordes con la realidad de tránsito de la avenida 80 en Medellín.

The 80th Avenue of Medellín city, is an artery road where a tramway is planned to be built. Since this modification implies changes in its construction, the traffic demand of the area must be analyzed. This leads to the application of the “Delay Volume” functions, which, with the information of the vehicle volume, the travel time with free flow, the road capacity and the alpha and beta parameters, it will obtain the time that a vehicle will take crossing the avenue in situations of high vehicular flow. This work focuses on locating the parameters or constants alpha and beta to the Colombian reality, seeking to make traffic studies in the area more accurate.
To achieve this initially, we will study the current behavior of the road by applying a due capacity protocol and thus be able to generate its projections with the tramway, through known methodologies, locating them to the reality of the city. Then, with the simulation Software PTV VISSIM, the chosen section will be modeled microscopically, it will be statistically analyzed with the GEH statistic, and this will be plotted in the “Delay Volume” function with the tramway, thereby being able to clear the new alpha and beta constants for the road with the tramway corridor.
With the data found in this work, it is shown that there are variations in the standardized alpha and beta parameters, with respect to the reality thrown by the section studied. This allows us to conclude that the application of the standardized parameters, when used in the “Delay Volume” functions, does not represent road congestion in a clear way, as they differ from the representations obtained when using the new parameters, according to the road conditions of the section from Avenida 80, with and without the tramway corridor.
